Chocolate Valentine Desserts Made With Love

This year why not make your own chocolate heaven for the people you love. In fact chocolate can be good for you. Yep you read it right. Dark chocolate contains antioxidants that help to keep the body healthy. Dark chocolate eaten in moderation really is heaven.

Dark chocolate can be used to make many types of dessert. One that is a favorite on Valentine's Day is the lava cake. Makes the mouth water thinking about all the chocolate oozing out of the center of that cake doesn't it? Add your own special touches such as powdered sugar hearts made with stencils.

Melted chocolate is also used quite a bit when making chocolate delights. Melting chocolate is an art so to speak. In reality melting chocolate is easy and with the right techniques you can escape the mistakes many of us make. Remember that cooking chocolate on high temperatures won't melt the chocolate any faster. It just means disaster. The same can be said for adding water to melting chocolate. This just leaves you with a gooey mess.

Squares of chocolate can be melted in non stick saucepans over low heat. Some recipes may call for adding some type of liquid. If this is the case in your recipe just follow the directions for fool proof melted chocolate.

Melted chocolate also doesn't necessarily need to be stirred. Once melted chocolate has that glossy look it's pretty much melted. Just stir it into the recipe and you should have no problems. Remember chocolate squares aren't cheap so take your time when it comes to melting them.

For many just a hint of chocolate is enough to satisfy the craving. Pound cakes and cheesecakes can be made into a chocolate delight by adding just a small amount of melted chocolate.

Don't forget that chocolate icing is just as delicious. Spread a little on a cake, cookies or cupcakes to give those loved ones a small taste. For those who want nothing but chocolate then ice all those chocolate goodies with some chocolate sauce. Just remember these types of treats are for the chocolate lover only.

There are numerous dessert ideas for Valentine's Day that include chocolate. Take a few minutes to look at all the different recipes available. There's no doubt that you can find the perfect chocolate treat that says I love you.
