Healthy Snacks Too Carry Fourth of July

If your day is planned like most Americans, you may take in a parade, head for the water and then spend the evening watching fireworks. No matter if you are taking your small children, teens or grandchildren, you will want to pack a few snacks to stave off the hunger between meals.

Healthy Snacks Too Carry Along For the Fourth of July

Having a great Fourth of July is all in the planning. Packing snacks for a day at the park or at the fair is a pretty good idea. It never fails that a child or even an adult will have the hunger attack in between meals and this is an inexpensive way to remedy that. Pack your family’s favorites and see what kind of hit you will be.

Making your tote as light as possible is the trick. Individually packing snacks in baggies for children, makes serving more convenient. Pack the children’s favorite snacks, such as Goldfish crackers, graham crackers, Cheerios, pretzels, wheat thins or the crackers with the peanut butter inside.

Use a cloth tote bag such as a grocery tote or even a diaper bag will work. The tote is light weight and expands to hold a lot of snacks. Here are some snack ideas that may be helpful for you to pack. Some light snacks would be some apple slices that are sprinkled with some lemon juice, so they don’t turn brown. Seedless grapes that are removed from the vine and rinsed are very refreshing. For those that like their snack in a package take some raisins, trail mix, animal crackers, fruit snacks, pudding packs, nuts, dried fruit and granola bars.

To quench the thirst, taking along some beverages is also possible. Take the children’s favorite juice boxes or pouches. Bottled water for each person, with the flavored drink mix tubes are a good idea. If it is really a hot day or if they prefer take their favorite small bottle of sports drink like Gatorade. A small cooler with a shoulder strap is very practical way to hold the drinks, just add an ice pack to keep them chilled; this should still keep the weight down.

The holiday will be more enjoyable if you have your day planned and organized. Some of these ideas should be of some help in your planning. You know your family and what they enjoy, so follow this outline to make your day one of the greatest.
