Natural Kitchen Cleaning

There's no need to clean your kitchen with harmful household cleaners from your local grocery store. Keep your kitchen clean the natural way without the worry of replacing the dirt with chemicals that can do more harm than good to your family. Find out how to make your own kitchen cleaners with all natural and safe products.

Making Natural Kitchen Cleaners

It’s a struggle to keep your kitchen clean and free of germs and odors but it’s a must if you want a healthy family. There are more products available to clean your kitchen than any other room in your home, including the bathroom. These types of products are not only expensive but it can be frustrating trying to decide which one is the right one to use. Trying to find cleaners that are free of harmful chemicals can also be a battle in it’s own right.

Making your own natural kitchen cleaners is one way to do away with all the frustration and expense. The fact that they are natural helps relieve one's mind when it comes to worrying about what you might be putting in an area that needs to be as chemical free as possible. These cleaners are all natural and can be easily made right in your own kitchen.

Cleaning the oven can be quite the chore. One way to help prevent old spills from becoming a problem is to sprinkle them with salt as soon as they happen. Once the oven has cooled you can scrape the salt and spill away with little to no hassle.

Baking soda and hot water make a wonderful oven cleaning paste too. Mix equal parts and stir to make a paste. Cover your entire oven with the paste and allow it to sit for about 1 minute. Scrub the walls and bottom of the oven and then rinse the paste away. You now have a sparkling clean oven again. If stains are really stubborn add an equal amount of salt to the mixture. Apply to the oven then turn the oven temperature to 500 degrees. Allow the mixture to set in the hot oven for an hour. Once the oven has cooled, scrub off the stains and rinse.

When washing dishes there are many organic dish detergents that you can use. Another idea is to add a little baking soda to your dishwater along with the dish soap. It is more effective in removing waste and is less damaging to the air and environment.

If you use a dishwasher try soda and borax instead of those harsh detergents. When it’s time to rinse, use vinegar. Add it at the beginning of the rinse cycle for spotless dishes every time. This will also help to clean away dirt and grime that can build up on your dishwasher over time.

Soak pots and pans in a baking soda and water solution to remove those tough stuck on foods. If you have copper pans clean them in a mixture of lemon juice and salt for a bright shiny pan.

If you have hard flooring in your kitchen try white vinegar. Vinegar is safe and effective at cleaning most flooring. If your floor is not extremely dirty and you just want to do a touch up try using just a mop dampened with warm water only.

Baking soda and water are a great way to clean your garbage disposal. Just pour it down the disposal and allow it to sit about 10 minutes. Add a few ice cubes and let it run. Place some citrus peel in your disposal and run it for a few minutes to give your disposal a fresh clean smell. If you have a clogged sink drain pour baking soda and table salt followed by some white vinegar in the drain and allow it to stand for about 15 minutes. Flush out the drain with boiling water to clear the clog.

Cleaning the kitchen doesn’t have to be a hassle and you can do it with simple things you already have on hand. All the while protecting your family from the harsh chemicals and keeping them safe from germs and bacteria.
