Valentine Dinner Family Affair
Romance may be in the air on Valentine's Day but if you have a family it may mean waiting until the little ones are fast asleep before enjoying the romance. A Valentine's dinner can be shared with everyone in the family. In fact it can be rather fun.

Make Valentine's Dinner a Family Affair
Kids can have a lot of fun cooking. It the one time they can make a huge mess and nobody gets upset. This works for many Dads too. Get the whole family in on the deal. Let everyone make a special dish to bring to the table. Of course Mom will have to supervise, help with the grocery buying and of course the clean up but that's ok. You can still have that look of surprise on your face when their finished product is set before you on the table.
One idea for a family Valentine's dinner is pizza. No don't head for the phone and place an order. Make one together. Buy refrigerated pizza dough from the store along with everybody's favorite toppings. Roll the crust out and use a sharp knife to cut it into heart shapes. Let everyone add a favorite topping. Better yet let each person make their own individual pizza. Either way you'll have a blast doing it together.
Another great family dinner idea would be spaghetti. In thirty minutes you can have a meal fit for a king. Let the kids throw together a salad and Dad can fix his famous garlic bread. Remember Italians are known for love so give this Italian meal a try.
Remember the kids are a big part of this dinner so make sure there are foods involved that make their mouths water. Hamburgers, hot dogs and French fries are a favorite of many children. Use heart shaped cookie cutters to make those burgers into a special treat. Write I Love You across the hot dog with ketchup or mustard. Sprinkle the fries with a little paprika to show them just how much you care.
Having a family dinner can be a difficult endeavor in this day and age. Why not make sure that on the one day that love is in the air you and your family can celebrate it together. Add a few candles to the table and a little family chatter and get to know your family again. Being together and showing each other just how much you care is what the day is all about.
