Little Fuss Valentine’s Day Dinner Ideas
Prepare the meal ahead of time. There are many recipes today that are easy to prepare ahead. All you have to do is pop it in the oven. Casseroles top the list. Made with chicken, beef or pork these casseroles can be put together the night before and then popped in the oven as soon as you get home. Add a fresh salad and some dinner rolls and you have the makings for the perfect no fuss meal.
Marinated meats such as fish or chicken can be placed in the marinade the night before. The next morning wrap it in aluminum foil. When you get home just stick it in the oven to bake. There is very little fuss to a meal like this one. Just remember that adding milk or eggs to a dish to far ahead of time can be means for disaster. If these types of ingredients need to be added wait until just before placing it in the oven. It won't take long to add them and again there's not a lot of fuss to finishing it up.
What about your crock pot? We use our crock pots a lot when it comes to making the evening meal. Valentine's Day is no exception. Throw a roast with some vegetables together or try chicken cacciatore or Swedish meatballs. These are great Valentine dinner meals and they take very little time to throw together. Cook the meals on high for about 4 hours or on low for 8 to 10 hours depending on what your schedule for the day might be.
Check out those cookbooks for recipes that include 5 ingredients or less. Things such as pasta dishes are included in these types of recipes. With such few ingredients not only is the preparation time shorter but so is the cooking time. This leaves you with more time to spend with your family instead of slaving over a hot stove.
These are just a few ways of leaving some of the fuss behind when it comes to those Valentine's Day dinners. Spending time with the people you love is what Valentine's Day is all about. Giving them a great meal with little fuss is the perfect way to pamper your family and yourself on Valentine's Day.
