Valentine's Day Meals Kids Will Love

Children love to eat. Whether breakfast, lunch, dinner or those anticipated afternoon or bedtime snacks, they are almost always ready and willing to dive in. Giving them that special touch with each serving is one way to show your children how much they mean to you on Valentine’s Day.

Give Your Kids Valentine’s Day All Day Long

Start them out with breakfast. Give them pancakes that are in the shape of a heart. Make them different sizes so the stack like 3D. Place a heart shaped piece of butter on the top. Then top it off with strawberry syrup. Instead of orange juice give them cherry or strawberry flavored fruit juice. Make their milk pink with a little strawberry flavoring.

When it comes time for lunch give children what they like best. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Be sue the jelly is strawberry. Use heart shaped cookie cutters to cut out their sandwiches. Add some tator tots with heart shaped mounds of ketchup on the side. Go ahead and give them that cherry Kool-Aid but be sure to add some heart shaped ice cubes to liven it up.

Ok it’s time for that afternoon snack. Yummy huh? How about taking fruit that is sliced a little thicker than normal. Use cookie cutters to cut Valentine shapes. Give them some fruit dip with it and tint it pink or red with food coloring. Serve it on a special plate that says I love you. You can even give them a bowl of popcorn that is tinted red or pink. Wouldn’t that be quite the treat?

Because Valentine’s Day is in February it’s usually still rather cold outside. Serve up some soup for your child’s supper. Instead of the normal bowl use a bread bowl shaped into a heart. Maybe macaroni and cheese is their favorite. Add some ham or vegetables that are cut into a heart shape. Try chicken nuggets too. Cut the chicken breast pieces in to hearts, batter with breadcrumbs and deep-fry them. Kids will be in seventh heaven with this type of meal.

It is Valentine’s Day and for kids that means yummy treats. Let them have that special piece of cake, cookies or cupcakes you worked so hard to make for them. Decorate them with sayings and pink or red icing just for this occasion. Add a few sprinkles and the kids won’t know how to react.

Going the extra mile for your children on Valentine’s Day is one way to show them they mean everything to you. They will be surprised at all the special work you put in to serve them food made with love. One last thing, be sure to give them that good night snack. Lay a conversation heart in middle of their pillow to find. It will lead to pleasant dreams and a happy ending to their day.
