Many people believe this diet is unsafe. The basis of the diet is to eat cabbage soup with a few additions for seven days. Those additions include items such as unsweetened fruit juice, beef, fruits, vegetables and brown rice. Many experts believe that this will not give you the necessary vitamins to keep your body healthy.

This diet is based on seven days. It has been shown that anyone who stays on the diet for more than the recommended time can become weak and disorientated. The calorie intake is significantly lower than a body can handle. This in turn can cause other health problems.

Because the vitamin, calcium and protein intake is extremely low, your body cannot function correctly or maintain the balance needed. The cabbage soup will help to suppress your hunger but, because you are basically losing water, you burn muscle not fat. Some experts believe you are literally starving yourself with this diet.

Why would anyone consider this diet? This diet is a quick fix. Many people become discouraged because they aren’t losing the weight fast enough. By under going this type of diet you can lose the weight quickly but maintaining that weight loss can be very difficult. Therefore you must continue the diet to maintain the weight. By doing this you are not being safe with the health of your body.

Can you lose the 10 pounds in 7 days as the diet boasts? Maybe but is it worth all the risks? Only you can determine that. If you are considering this diet, researching it and other options is the best bet. Find out all the facts and weigh the pros and cons before trying it.

Also talk to you doctor. If you are not healthy before starting the diet it is a good possibility that you will be adding insult to injury. Educate yourself and know all the facts, good and bad, before starting any diet, but especially one of this nature. It could mean the difference between losing weight and feeling better about yourself or losing weight to only find that you have caused more problems with your health.
