Beef and Bean Tostadas |
Ingredients

* 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
* 1 can (4 1/2 oz) chopped green chiles, drained
* 1 package of 12 tostada shells
* 1 lb ground beef
* 1 jar (16 oz) salsa
* 1 1/2 cups shredded lettuce
* 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
* 3/4 cup diced tomatoes

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375.
2. Mix together beans and chiles in medium bowl.
3. Spread 3 tablespoons of the beans onto each tostada.
4. Put tostadas on a cookie sheet and bake 7 minutes or until hot.
5. Brown ground beef in large skillet over medium heat. Drain fat. Add 1 1/2 cup salsa. Cook an additional 4-5 minutes or until heated through.
6. Top each tostada with ground beef, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and the rest of the salsa.

This is a great "guys" snack. It works especially well if you've got a house filled with guys just hanging out, doing their thing. It's a snack that doesn't keep you in the kitchen all day, and your guy could even throw these together himself; they're that easy to make. Not a lot of ingredients is one thing that usually appeals to a fella when you're trying to coax him to cook.
