Brown Sugar Dry Rubbed Chicken Breasts


* 2 tablespoons brown sugar
* 1 tablespoon salt
* 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
* 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder

* 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
* 2 tablespoons vegetable oil


1. Mix together the sugar, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder and rub onto both sides of chicken.
2. Heat oil on medium heat in heavy skillet and add chicken, cooking until lightly browned, turning occasionally, total time about 10-12 minutes.


If your family is not that fond of spicy or hot dry rubs, this is a nice simple rub that you will enjoy. Kids are especially fond of this because it's sweet, of course. But, adults will like it too since it has onion and garlic.

If your kids dislike onions, it's usually because of the texture. Using onion powder is a great way to avoid the "yuck" factor and still be able to have the flavor you like.
