Cheddar Walnut Dip


* 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
* 1/2 cup plain yogurt
* 1 tablespoon tomato paste
* 1 clove garlic, minced
* salt & cayenne pepper to taste
* 1/3 cup toasted chopped walnuts
* breadsticks/crackers for dipping


1. Put everything except walnuts and dippers in food processor and pulse until smooth.
2. Scrape into a serving bowl, then stir in walnuts.


You don't often think about adding walnuts to dip, but why not? This blend is unusual enough to serve for a special gathering, and nutritious enough to serve the family as a snack. After all, you can't go wrong nutritionally speaking with yogurt, cheese, and nuts! Walnuts are also a relatively economical source of protein, with 1 ounce walnuts equivalent to 2 ounces of meat. Nutritious and yummy!
