Don't be afraid of making a quiche. It's really a simple egg dish no matter how fancy you think they are. Although this recipe calls for asparagus and mushrooms, you can really mix up a quiche with anything you like. Experiment a little until you find the perfect ingredient combination for you and your family.
I highly recommend covering the edges of the crust with a circle of tin foil when you put your quiche in the oven. There's nothing worse than a beautiful quiche with a burned crust. You don't have to crimp the foil down too tight, just cut out a circle that fits and lay it on top, just gently forming the foil around the top of the crust.
