Chicken and Cabbage

Ingredients

* 2 1/2 lb - 3 lb chicken, cut up
* 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
* 1 cup water
* 2 tablespoons brown sugar
* 2 tablespoons vinegar
* 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
* 1/4 teaspoon pepper
* 1 medium head of cabbage, cut into 8 wedges
* 1/2 teaspoon caraway seed

Directions

1. Brown chicken in hot oil over medium heat turning occasionally to brown all sides (10-15 minutes).
2. Stir together water, brown sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper then pour over chicken. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
3. Add cabbage wedges and sprinkle with caraway seed. Cover and cook about 15-20 minutes longer (until cabbage and chicken is tender).
