Chili Rice


* 1 can (16 oz) tomato sauce
* 1/2 cup water
* 3 teaspoons chili powder
* 1 1/2 cups minute rice
* 1/2 cup crushed tortilla chips
* 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese


1. Mix tomato sauce with water and chili powder in a saucepan. Heat to a boil then add rice and stir. Remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 10 minutes.
2. Serve topped with chips and cheese.


This is a nice quick dish when you need something tasty but filling that you can throw together in minutes. You'll find that you probably have all the ingredients on hand most of the time. Next time you have family and friends glued to the television watching the race or game all night, set a big plate of this Chili Rice in front of them and watch it disappear.
