Christmas Morning French Toast

Ingredients

*1/2 (1 pound) loaf French bread, cut diagonally in 1 inch slices
*4 eggs
*1 cup milk
*3/4 cup half-and-half cream
*1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons butter
*2/3 cup brown sugar
*1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
*1 teaspoon vanilla extract
*1 tablespoon and 1-1/2 teaspoons light corn syrup

Directions

1. Take a 9x13" baking dish and butter it.
2. Arrange the slices of bread on the bottom of the dish.
3. Take a large bowl and add the eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon. Mix well.
4. Pour the mixture over the bread slices, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
5. In the morning, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
6. Using a small saucepan, add the butter, brown sugar and corn syrup; heat until bubbling.
7. Pour this mixture over the bread.
8. Bake, uncovered for 40 minutes.
