Classic Clam Dip


* 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
* 1 small can minced clams (drained but save the juice)
* 3 tablespoons chopped green onion, including the tops please
* dash garlic powder (may substitute a little grated garlic)


1. Combine all ingredients, including 1
tablespoon of the clam juice.

2. Mix very well.

3. Serve with your favorite crackers. May use for hors d'oeuvres by topping several crackers and topping with a curl of green onion, cut black olives, parsley sprig, or what have you.


Less is more when it comes to clam dip. The clams themselves are so flavorful that just a bit of onion and garlic is all you really need. Once you make this dip, it will become standard fare at all your family holidays. And be sure to save the juice from the clams. Pour what you don't need into a plastic zip lock freezer bag and save in the freezer for your next fish soup, chowder or gumbo.
