Classic Raisin Sauce

Ingredients

* 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 2 tablespoons cornstarch
* 1 teaspoon dry mustard
* 1 tablespoon vinegar
* 1 cup raisins
* 1/4 teaspoon grated lemon peel
* 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
* 1 1/2 cups water

Directions

1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan.
2. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly.
3. The sauce should thicken as it heats.
4. Remove from heat, and continue to stir until it cools just slightly.
5. This is a classic sauce to serve with baked ham.

Story

We don't often bake a ham, but when we do, this sauce is a special treat. It's a very old fashioned sauce recipe that brings back memories of Sunday dinner at Grandma's house. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
