Classic Sweet and Tangy Smokies


* 1 C brown sugar, packed
* 1 TBSP all purpose flour
* 1/4 C orange juice concentrate
* 2 TBSP mustard
* 1 TBSP cider vinegar
* 1 (16 oz) pkg. miniature smoked sausages


1. In a large bowl blend together well with a fork the brown sugar and flour.
2. Pour in the orange juice and vinegar and blend again with your fork.
3. Gently stir in the sausages making sure they are coated with the mixture.
4. Transfer to a heavy pot and place over medium low heat.
5. Heat mixture through until sugar dissolves and sausages are heated through.
6. Serve warm.


These little smokies are pretty basic and traditional... just the way I like them! You can add garlic powder, or onion powder if you like just to tweak them a bit, but the original recipe is darn good! If you have to keep these warm on a buffet, just put them in a small crock pot set on low and cover.
