Creamy Picante Guacamole


* 4 avocados, peeled, seeded and mashed with a fork
* juice of 1/2 lime
* 1/2 cup picante sauce
* 1/3 cup sour cream


1. Mash up avocado, squeeze lime over, and mash again.
2. Combine all ingredients in a glass bowl and mix well.
3. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
4. Best served without being refrigerated after assembly, however, if you must refrigerate, be sure to cover bowl with plastic wrap touching the surface of the dip. Then, remove dip a few minutes before serving to allow dip to shake off the chill just a touch.


Avocados are at their best at or just a touch below room temperature. Don't refrigerate them before using, and try not to refrigerate your guacamole after preparation. Go ahead and chill the lime, picante sauce, and, of course, the sour cream before assembly so your finished product has just a hint of chill. That way you get a nice mix of spicy and cool.
