Spicy Pecans - Crock Pot

(Crock Pot Spicy Pecans)

Ingredients

* 1 lb pecan halves
* 4 tablespoons butter, melted
* 1 tablespoon chili powder
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon dried basil
* 1 teaspoon dried oregano
* 1 teaspoon dried thyme
* 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
* 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

1. Put everything in crock pot and mix well. Cover and cook on high for 15 minutes.
2. Remove the cover and turn heat down to low. Cook for 2 - 2 1/2 additional hours, stirring occasionally. This will "crisp" them up a little.
3. Spread nuts on a large baking sheet covered with paper towels or paper bags to absorb moisture and cool.

Something different to do with your crock pot! If you are just a little tired of pecan sweets, this is a really wonderful way to enjoy pecans again. And what a surprise when you serve them as a snack. No one expects them! Peanuts, yes... but Pecans? They are supposed to be sweet, right? Enjoy!
