If you want a healthy drink each morning, choose a different berry each day! Fresh or frozen berries work just fine. If you want to add an ice cube or two just to 'froth' up the shake a bit more, go ahead.
For another nutrition bump, toss in a teaspoon or more of flax seed meal. You'll get a grittier smoothie. If the texture gets too thick, pour in a little more milk, or even add a 1/4 cup of yogurt if you like. This is a very diet friendly smoothie!
Of course, you can sweeten this smoothie up a bit with a little local honey. Local honey is one of my favorite ways to fight pollen allergies. At least, it's one of the tastiest ways to fight allergies! Enjoy!
