Easy South of the Border Short Ribs - Crock Pot


* 4 lbs beef short ribs
* 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
* salt and pepper to taste
* 1 large onion, sliced
* 1 cup water
* 1 envelope taco seasoning mix


1. Heat oil in a large heavy skillet over medium heat.
2. Season ribs with salt and pepper.
3. Place ribs in skillet and brown on both sides.
4. Arrange the ribs in your crock pot.
5. Put the sliced onion on top of the ribs.
6. In separate bowl, mix together taco seasoning and water and pour over ribs.
7. Cook, covered, for 8 hours on LOW.


These short ribs are so simple and so spicy. Using a taco seasoning pack really makes cooking easy. You don't have to chop or measure; just sprinkle and mix, and your seasoning is all ready. The ribs are tender and spicy, done just right in the slow cooker.
