This is a classic dish that's oh so tasty. When made with fresh ingredients, it can hardly get any better. However, if you're on a low carb diet, you can make this dip even better. How?
Use this recipe as a vegetable dip on a 'crudite' tray. Try some of your traditional veggies, or try something new like jicama, or even tart apples. Think "creamy, salty, tangy, and spicy" and what goes with all that? Sweet, of course.
How about skipping the old cocktail sauce and try this guacamole with cold cooked shrimp? Traditional cocktail sauce is loaded with sugar (ketchup = carbs.) If you're going to serve this guacamole with shrimp, consider adding a little more spice to the recipe; maybe a drop or two of hot sauce would be nice.
Give this guacamole a try on your low-carb, healthy eating diet and you'll find all sorts of new ideas to stick to it! Enjoy!
