1. Cook meat in hot butter in a skillet turning occasionally to brown all sides. Put meat in crock pot. Add everything else (stir well) except: peas, water, flour and wine.
2. Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours. Remove bay leaf and add peas.
3. Combine water, flour and wine in a little bowl. Slowly add to crock pot stirring constantly. Turn heat to high and cook for 10 more minutes.
