Hot Rum Sauce |

Ingredients
|
* 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 1 1/2 cup water (total)
* 1 tbsp lemon juice
* 3 tbsp cornstarch
* 3 tbsp butter
* 1 tbsp rum
|

Directions
|
1. Mix brown sugar, 3/4 cup water and lemon juice in saucepan
2. Heat over medium heat
3. Mix 3 tbsp cornstarch with 3/4 cup water
4. add to brown sugar mixture
5. Heat until mixture thickens (It will turn darker)
6. Remove from heat, add butter and rum. Blend.

My grandmother made this sauce and served it over Christmas pudding. I use it as a topping to my Rum Raisin Cheescake. Be creative....perhaps us it as a topping on other raisin bread puddings.
