Manhattan Style Clam Chowder - Crock Pot


* 1 bottle (32 oz) clam juice
* 1 bottle (32 oz) tomato juice
* 6 oz can tomato paste
* 8 cans (6 1/2 oz each) chopped clams (do not drain)(Use good quality)
* 2 bags (16 oz each) frozen mixed vegetables for stew
* 2 cans (16 oz each) sliced potatoes, drained
* 1 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning


1. Place all ingredients in crock pot and mix well.
2. Cook, covered, on low for 7-8 hours.


If you get a hankerin' for Manhattan Style Clam Chowder, you can put together a batch that will make you feel pretty darn close to the East Coast. This recipe uses ingredients that are prepared for you, so it takes very little time to mix it up. The real flavor comes from using good clams and clam juice. You can't make clam chowder without them! Everything else is debatable, but if you've got those good tasting clams in your chowder, it will taste great!
