1. Brown meat in a saucepan in hot oil over medium heat, turning often to brown all sides.
2. Add carrot, onion, tomato sauce, 1/2 cup water, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and salt. Cover and cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hours (until meat is tender)
3. Combine tablespoon of water with cornstarch and add to stew. Cook, stirring very frequently, until thickens. Serve over hot noodles.

This beef stew is definitely a family pleasing meal. It goes together quite easily and quickly, which I like, and it's served over hot, buttered noodles, which my hungry family appreciates. The flavor is a nice combination of sweet and tangy, so everyone is happy with that!
