Oven Baked Franks 'n' Beans |

Ingredients
|
* 6 hot dogs, sliced about 1/4" thick
* 1 large can (1 lb 15 oz) pork and beans
* 5 tablespoons chopped onion
* 2 tablespoons butter
* 1/4 cup brown sugar
* 1 teaspoon mustard
* 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Heat butter in large heavy skillet and saute onion in butter until tender and translucent.
3. Put onions in casserole dish and add the rest of the ingredients, mixing well.
4. Bake, uncovered, for 30 to 35 minutes, stirring a few times during cooking.

Plain franks and beans out the can are pretty unimaginative. The flavor just never is quite right, so this recipe to spice it up a little can be a really welcome change. When you oven bake franks and beans, you get a nice old-fashioned quality about this dish, too. Enjoy!
