1. Cook the pasta shells according to the package directions, drain and set aside, keeping warm.
2. Meanwhile, cut the tough ends off asparagus and cut to bite sized pieces, leaving the head intact.
3. Place the asparagus, celery, carrots, and onions in a bowl and toss to combine.
4. Place the oil into a skillet over medium heat.
Add the vegetables in, and cook for 5 to 8 minutes, stirring often, until just heated through and crunchy-tender.
5. Sprinkle the salt and pepper over the vegetables and stir to incorporate.
6. Place the cooked vegetables into the bowl with the pasta and toss to combine.
7. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top just before serving.
