Simply Spicy Italian Tomato Pasta Sauce


* 1 red onion, chopped
* 1 T cooking oil
* 3 cloves garlic, minced
* 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 20 oz can Italian plum tomatoes
* 10 oz spaghetti noodles, cooked and drained per package directions
* 1/4 cup fresh parsley, minced


1. Saute onion in large heavy skillet over medium-high heat in oil until onion is translucent, then add garlic and heat for 30 seconds more.
2. Stir in pepper flakes and tomatoes and turn heat down to simmer.
3. Simmer sauce for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
4. Serve over noodles and topped with parsley.


If you're looking for a quick pasta meal that's just as tasty as it is easy, this is the recipe for you. The ingredients are classic so the sauce turns out perfect every time.

Of course, the red pepper flakes add a big 'kick' but you can tamper it down a bit if you wish. Start out by adding one teaspoon of red pepper flakes, then add more if you like.
