Summer Melon in Ginger Syrup


*1/3 C of sugar
*3 tbsp water
*2 tsp lime zest, grated
*1 tbsp lime juice
*1 tsp fresh grated ginger
*1 honeydew melon, cut into bite size pieces


1. Whisk the sugar and water together in a saucepan over medium heat.
2. Bring to a boil and cook stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves.
3. Chill the mixture 10 minutes in the refrigerator then stir in the lime zest, lime juice, and ginger.
4. Place the melon chunks into a serving bowl, pour in the syrup and toss to coat.


When a simple bowl of fruit isn't quite fancy enough, making a syrup is a way to turn plain fruit into dessert. The ginger and lime combination makes this syrup especially fancy! Enjoy!
