Breakfast is the one meal that is very important. It wakes up our sleeping metabolism and provides us with valuable nutrition. It is sad to know that it is also the most skipped meal of the day.

Healthy Power Boosting Breakfast Ideas

Most people are in a mad rush in the morning and there is just not enough time to eat. There is so much to get done in the morning. Like making the bed, getting ready for work, getting the kids ready for school and maybe even some morning chores. Yet it is important to eat a good breakfast. It doesn't have to take a long time to prepare a nutritionally complete breakfast. Below are five power breakfast ideas that will fit into any busy schedule.

Cereal with low-fat milk is quick. Slice some bananas or add some raisins. This will place carbohydrates and dairy into your morning meal. The bananas and raisins take care of one of your daily servings of fruit. No cooking is required and it will fill you up.

Whole-grain waffles are a breakfast favorite. The waffles can be topped with strawberries and yogurt. There is no longer the need to drag out the waffle iron to make them. These frozen whole-grain waffles are delicious and nutritious and they can be warmed up in the toaster in no time at all.

Bran muffins work well when you're running late. Grab a bran muffin, an apple and a cup of skim milk. These foods require no preparation and are portable. Bran muffins are available in a variety of flavors at any grocery store. Milk can also be bought in single-serve containers. This will allow you to take breakfast with you if needed.

Breakfast smoothies work well for people who can't sit down long enough to eat breakfast. Why not try drinking your breakfast? Smoothies can be made with yogurt, milk or fruit juice and fresh fruit. Just dump your sliced fruit or berries in the blender and mix until smooth.

English muffins with peanut butter and bananas are another option. Peanut butter is definitely one of the most filling things you can eat. Spread some peanut butter on one half of the English muffin and top it with a sliced banana. Put the other half of the English muffin on top to make a quick, easy and nutritious breakfast sandwich.

Skipping breakfast will not get our day off to a good start. If these quick and healthy food items are kept on hand, there's no reason to miss breakfast. We will be getting the nutrition we need and still be on time for work.
