Texas Style BBQ Meatloaf |
Ingredients

* 1/2 cup bread crumbs
* 1 1/2 lb ground beef
* 1 cup milk
* 1 egg
* 1/4 cup chopped onion
* 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon pepper
* 1/4 teaspoon ground sage
* 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ (barbecue) sauce for the top

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Combine ingredients, (all except BBQ sauce), in very large bowl. Mix well (use your clean hands) and shape into a loaf. Put in a loaf pan that has been lightly sprayed with non-stick spray. Cover the mixture with the BBQ sauce.
3. Bake loosely covered with aluminum foil tent for 1 hour.

This earns it's Texas-status due to the mustard and BBQ sauce topping not common in your average meat loaf.
Be sure you save some of this for cold sandwiches the next day. Slice off a thin slab, place between slices of a good crusty bread with a thin slice of onion, some mustard and a touch of horseradish.
