Baked Pears with Cranberry Wine Sauce |
Ingredients

* 4 ripe, firm dessert pears (peeled, cored and cut into quarters)
* 1/3 C red wine
* 1/4 C dried cranberries
* Cinnamon and nutmeg for sprinkling

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Place pear quarters in a baking dish and pour wine over the pears.
3. Scatter the chopped cranberries over the pears.
4. Sprinkle with a little nutmeg and cinnamon.
5. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until tender.

This light and delicious dessert can be served with fat-free frozen yogurt or fat-free whipped topping.
(Of course, if you want a real treat, you can also serve it with creamy vanilla ice cream!)
