Beef Burgundy Oven Stew |
Ingredients

* 2 lbs beef stew meat, cubed
* 1/2 cup Burgundy wine (or other dry red wine)
* 1 can French onion soup
* 4 oz can sliced mushrooms, drained

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 325.
2. Mix together all ingredients in a Dutch oven.
3. Cover and bake for 2 hours.
4. Remove cover and bake another 20 minutes.

You'll see a lot of beef Burgundy recipes, but none as simple as this. Just mix up the ingredients and you can forget it for a couple hours. Don't skip the wine in the recipe! It makes the beef tender and wonderfully rich and has a deep flavor.
Serve this alongside or over smashed Yukon gold potatoes. Oven roasted Brussels sprouts are a nice vegetable choice.
