Goulash Hungarian Style - Crock Pot

Ingredients

* 3 medium onions, coarse chopped
* 1 large green pepper, diced
* 4 cloves garlic, minced
* 2 lbs beef round steak cut into 1" pieces
* 1 can (12 oz) tomato paste
* 4 teaspoons Hungarian paprika (yes, you should use Hungarian paprika if possible)
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* 1 can (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes, not drained

* hot cooked egg noodles (with butter, optional)

Directions

1. Coat crock pot with non-stick cooking spray. Put all the ingredients in crock pot and mix gently until everything is well blended.
2. Cook, covered, on low 7-9 hours.
3. Serve with hot, buttered egg noodles.

Story

There are a lot of goulash recipes everywhere, some with sauerkraut, potatoes, and other ingredients added, which are also great. This recipe with the egg noodles is simple and worth a try. It offers great flavor without a lot of ingredients.

If you find you really like goulash, get yourself some good authentic Hungarian paprika. And try making all the variations of goulash that you can find! Enjoy!
