Crunchy Candy Cheerio Squares

*1 (4 oz.) pkg. vanilla pudding and pie filling mix (not instant)
*1/2 C light corn syrup
*1/3 C peanut butter, crunchy
*4 C Cheerio cereal

1. Put the dry pudding mix into a saucepan.
2. Add the corn syrup to the pudding mix.
3. Position the pan over medium heat.
4. Bring to a boil stirring continuously.
5. Still stirring cook 1 minute.
6. Turn off the heat under the pan.
7. Mix in the peanut butter until well combined.
8. Dump the cereal into the pan.
9. With a rubber spatula blend the cereal into the mixture.
10. Butter the bottom and sides of a square pan.
11. Spread the mixture evenly into the buttered pan.
12. Allow to cool to room temperature before cutting into squares.

When are Cheerios not round? When they're turned into a square. Whip up a batch of these sweet vanilla pudding, peanut butter, and Cheerio treats and your family will gladly donate their morning cereal to get another batch. If your children either don't like or can't eat nuts, it's a great way to offer them the same crunchy fun that we all enjoy in our candy treats. Enjoy!
