Easy Baked Honey Orange French Toast |
Ingredients

* 3 Tbsp of butter, melted
* 2 Tbsp honey
* 1/2 tsp cinnamon
* 3 eggs
* 1/2 cup orange juice
* 8 slices of day old bread

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
2. Spray a baking dish well with a non stick cooking spray or lightly coat with butter.
3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the butter, honey, and cinnamon.
4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out to coat the bottom completely.
5. Put the eggs and orange juice into a shallow bowl and whisk to blend well, then soak each side of the bread slices in the egg and orange juice mixture; then set each bread slice in prepared baking pan.
6. Bake 15 minutes or until a golden brown. Makes 4 servings.

I like this recipe because you're not standing over a skillet, frying the French toast. But, I also like it because it has a surprising taste, with the orange juice, especially. Very delicious and a special take on a simple favorite.
Be sure to use day old bread. It keeps the French toast from getting too soggy.
Also, this is a great breakfast for a holiday brunch or other morning you have guests. Just double and prepare 2 baking pans instead of one to serve more people.
