Festive Almond Bonbons

*4 1/2 C confectioners' sugar
*2/3 C sweetened condensed milk
*1 tsp vanilla
*1 tsp almond extract
*Red, green or other food coloring choice

1. Pour the sugar into a mixing bowl.
2. Pour the milk in with the sugar.
3. Fold the 2 ingredients together well.
4. Add the vanilla extract and the almond extract both.
5. Stir until combined together well.
6. Separate the mixture between 2 bowls.
7. Add red food coloring to one bowl.
8. Add the green food coloring to the other bowl.
9. Knead the mixture with your hands until creamy.
10. Cover the bowls with a damp towel.
11. Refrigerate 24 hours.
12. Form the mixture into small balls.
13. Place on wax paper.
14. Refrigerate until ready to eat.

Bonbons have some unusual connotations, evoking thoughts of weathy people laying around, being lazy, nibbling on bonbons. Well, that's a nice image, but I'm not wealthy, can I still enjoy a bonbon now and again? You bet! These yummy bonbons are simple to make. They look, and taste, wonderfully decadent. Use whatever food color you like, depending on your mood and the season, and have fun with them. Then find a chaise lounge, lie back, and enjoy!
