Four Ingredient Saucy Spareribs - Crock Pot |
Ingredients

* 3 lbs. pork spareribs, cut into serving size pieces
* salt and pepper to taste
* 2 cans (15 oz size) fire roasted diced tomatoes with garlic
* 1 medium onion, chopped
* 2 stalks celery, chopped
* 3 Tbsp water
* 2 Tbsp cornstarch

Directions

1. Put spareribs in heavy skillet with a little oil and cook until browned.
2. Transfer to a crock pot, sprinkle with salt and pepper, then add tomatoes, onion, and celery.
3. In separate little bowl, mix together water and cornstarch, then pour into skillet, whisking to remove browned bits from skillet, then pour into crock pot.
4. Set heat on crock pot to LOW and cook, covered, for 6 to 7 hours or until ribs are tender.
5. Remove spareribs to platter. Then stir mixture in crock pot to combine well and pour the sauce over ribs and serve.

What I like about this recipe is you can actually enjoy a saucy barbecue-style rib without all the sugar that's normally in commercially processed, or even homemade, barbecue sauce.
If you like a little more zip to your ribs, sprinkle in some red pepper flakes or cumin, or both! You can also use a dash of hot sauce. Or, make it as is. No matter what, I know you'll enjoy these tender, tasty, easy to make ribs.
