Glazed Apple Dessert Topping |
Ingredients

* 1/2 C brown sugar, firmly packed
* 2 tbsp butter or margarine
* 1 tbsp grated lemon peel
* 3 Red Delicious apples, cored and cut into chunks
* 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
* serve over vanilla ice cream

Directions
|
1. Blend together the brown sugar and butter in a sauce pan over medium heat and cook until the mixture begins to bubble.
2. Fold the lemon peel into the mixture.
3. Fold the apples into the glaze mixture in the pan and turn heat down to low.
4. Cook 15 minutes or until the apples are just starting to get tender.
5. Take pan from stove and stir in the vanilla.
6. Serve warm over a dish of vanilla ice cream.
