Story

The best of both worlds! That's how my family describes this soup. You've got your Mac & Cheese (all time family favorite) plus Ham & Corn Chowder. Yes, you could make them separate, but why?!

I recommend you DON'T buy those packages of cut up ham. I've found the ham at the deli is so much sweeter and just tastes better. Ask for a pound or so of ham, just cut as a chunk. Choose a good ham (honey roasted, Virginia) NOT "boiled ham" as you won't get the flavor you want. Then, dice up the chunk of ham yourself. The flavor and texture is really much better than you'll find in a package of diced ham you find in the lunch meat aisle.
