1. Boil milk in a saucepan.
2. Stir in oats.
3. Once oats and milk are mixed well add the butter and salt.
4. Continue cooking over medium heat for 5 minutes.
5. Stir occasionally.
6. Remove oatmeal from stove.
7. Add the maple syrup, raisins, walnuts and apples.
8. Stir to mix well.
9. Serve with a tablespoon of brown sugar
