Savory Orange Marmalade Chicken - Crock Pot |

Ingredients
|
* 6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
* 12 oz jar orange marmalade
* 8 oz bottle Russian salad dressing
* 1 oz envelope dry onion soup mix
* 3/4 cup water
*option - choose less expensive chicken thighs and remove skin

Directions

1. Put chicken breasts in crock pot.
2. Combine remaining ingredients then pour over chicken.
3. Cook, covered, on low for 6 hours.

Talk about easy! Only five simple ingredients and you have a tangy and sweet chicken meal. The orange marmalade is very sweet but is tamed and complimented by the tangy Russian dressing and the deep flavors of the onion soup.
When you put dishes together with only a few ingredients, you have to choose ingredients that are rich, flavorful, and play off each other well. Ingredients that are on opposite sides of the flavor spectrum work the best. If all the ingredients are similar in taste the resulting dish isn't very "complex." This dish definitely has depth of flavor! All this without a big culinary nightmare of time and effort in the kitchen!
