Tangy Tomato Shrimp Saute |
Ingredients

* 2 tablespoons butter
* 1 medium onion, chopped
* 1 green bell pepper, chopped
* 1/2 cup chopped celery
* 8 oz can tomato sauce
* 1 lb peeled shrimp
* 1 tablespoon soy sauce
* 1 teaspoon sugar
* serve over hot cooked rice

Directions

1. Heat butter in large heavy skillet and saute onion, green pepper, and celery until just starting to get tender.
2. Stir in remaining ingredients (except rice) and simmer over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Serve over hot cooked rice.

This is one of the simplest shrimp dishes you can make that is still fancy enough for company. By adding soy sauce and sugar you get a great tangy flavor that tastes just like a restaurant dish.
If you want to avoid the sugar, use honey. You can also use dark brown sugar as another option.
