Onion and Chive Creamy Golden Chicken with Pasta - Crock Pot |
Ingredients

* 1/2 C margarine
* 1 (1.05 oz.) pkg. Italian salad dressing mix
* 1 (11 oz) can golden mushroom soup
* 1/2 C white wine
* 1 (4 oz) pkg. onion and chive cream cheese
* 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
* 1 (8 oz) pkg. of angel hair pasta

Directions

1. Over low heat in a small saucepan melt the margarine.
2. Add the soup, wine, salad dressing and cream cheese.
3. Stir continuously until the cream cheese is completely melted and smooth.
4. Place the chicken in the crock pot and pout the mixture over the top.
5. Cook covered for 6 hours on low.
6. Cook the pasta as the package directs draining well.
7. Serve the chicken breasts over a bed of pasta.

Crock pot meals sometimes get a reputation of being bland. I think that's because some people are too afraid to season the dish well. Possibly because they think the flavor will get too intense because it cooks so long. That couldn't be further from the truth.
This dish is an excellent example of seasoning properly. The Italian dressing, onion and chive cream cheese, and wine blend together very well to form a wonderful sauce for the pasta. Enjoy!
