Cajun Blackened Seasoning Mix


* 1 TBSP paprika
* 1 tsp onion powder
* 1 tsp garlic powder
* 1 tsp cayenne
* 1 tsp black pepper
* 1/2 tsp dried thyme
* 1/2 tsp dried oregano
* 1/2 tsp cumin
* 1/2 tsp salt


1. Mix all ingredients together with a fork or whisk.

2. Put in tightly sealed container and store until needed in cool, dry place. No need to refrigerate.


Use this seasoning mix to rub down meat or fish before grilling, broiling, or baking. You can choose just how spicy you want the dish to be - a little goes a long way, so start light.

You can also add this seasoning mix to yogurt, sour cream, buttermilk, or an oil and vinegar mixture to make a marinade or sauce for serving. Once you make it, you'll find all sorts of ways to use it.
