* 2 cups any nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts, walnuts)
* 1 cup any combination of dried fruits (cranberries, blueberries, raspberries, raisins)
* 1 cup granola (like Kashi)
* 1 cup mini pretzels
* 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
* 1/4 cup M&M's (optional)
This is one of the most simple, yet most satisfying, trail mix recipes I have. The crunchy nuts, granola, pretzels, and seeds are a nice combination with the chewy dried fruit. I try to use as many different colors of fruit as I can find to keep the trail mix bright and pretty. Pretty food just tastes better!
I added M&M's in the recipe because so many people like them, especially when tempting their kids to eat a handful of a healthy snack. I tend to leave them out simply because I don't need them. However, for a person who gets chocolate cravings, this recipe would satisfy that craving without going over-board.
