Puffed Ham-wiches |
Ingredients

* 1 sheet frozen puff pastry
* 1 egg, slightly beaten
* 1 TBSP sesame seed
* 1/4 C refrigerated basil pesto
* 1 C roasted red bell peppers, drained and cut into strips
* 1/2 lb deli ham, thinly sliced

Directions

1. The sheet of pastry should be thawed at room temperature for 1/2 hour.
2. Set the oven to heat to 400 degrees.
3. Unfolded the pastry and brush the top with the egg.
4. Evenly sprinkle the sesame seeds over the brushed pastry.
5. Along the fold line cut the pastry into 3 pieces.
6. Each piece is cut into 8 rectangles about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide.
7. On an ungreased cookie sheet put the cut pastry about 2 inches apart.
8. Put them in oven and bake 15 minutes or until puffed to a light golden brown.
9. Cool the pastry on a wire rack at least 15 minutes.
10. Cut each rectangle piece of pastry in half horizontally.
11. On the cut side of the pastry spread the pesto.
12. Layer with the bell pepper strips.
13. Then layer with 2 to 3 slice of the deli ham.
12. Put the tops on the hamwiches and enjoy.
