Shredded Barbecued Flank Steak - Crock Pot


* 2 1/2 - 3 lbs flank steak
* 28 oz bottle barbecue sauce (use any of your favorite)
* 1 large onion, chopped
* 1 t salt
* 1 t black pepper


1. Gently rub flank steak with salt and pepper.
2. Place flank steak in 4 quart crock-pot.
3. Top steak with onions and barbecue sauce.
4. Cook, covered, for 8-9 hours on low.
5. Shred steak with forks in crock-pot and mix with sauce.
6. Put cover back on and continue to heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
7. Serve on hearty buns.


I often find flank steak on sale in the meat counter because a lot of people don't know what to do with it. Flank steak is perfect for the crock pot and this is a great recipe for summertime. You don't heat up the kitchen with the oven, and you have a great saucy pulled barbecued meat sandwich to take outside to eat by the pool. Don't forget coleslaw to slap on top! This is true pulled sandwich like they do it down south. Enjoy!
