Triple Herbed Molasses Barbecue Sauce


* 1 cup molasses
* 1 cup yellow mustard
* 1 cup white vinegar
* 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
* 1 teaspoon dried oregano
* 1 teaspoon dried thyme

* substitute fresh herbs - 1 teaspoon dried herbs equals 1 Tablespoon fresh chopped.


1. Combine molasses with mustard, whisk together well.
2. Whisk in remaining ingredients.
3. Store in refrigerator in tightly sealed glass or plastic container.
4. Use as you would any barbecue sauce to flavor meat or fowl.


This barbecue sauce is nice and thick and tangy, thanks to the molasses. It also has a bit of a fresh taste due to the nice assortment of herbs. I happen to prefer using fresh herbs, but they're not always available. The dried herbs are also just fine. Either way, the sauce will be a hit the next time you serve your famous barbecued ribs or chicken.
